Pretty Corner Tea Gardens

pc_Pretty_CornerAlthough we’ve been travelling up to East Runton for over a year now, this is our first visit to the Pretty Corner Tea Gardens. And we were not disappointed. The weather improved just as we sat down at one of the terrace tables (unfortunately right next to a door which lead to, what we assume was a dishwasher, so there was a little unwanted noise, but not enough to detract from the experience. We know which tables to choose next time!) and we chose a light lunch from the menus (there is also an extensive specials board as well).

On paper, we had chosen a simple sandwich for me, and Abby and Thea shared a jacket potato, but when they arrived they were so much more than that. The salad garnish was larger than some salads in lesser establishments. And so fresh! We particularly liked the podded peas as a little something different!

At £##, it wasn’t the cheapest lunch we’ve ever had, but the quality and freshness of the offering was worth every penny. The only downside was that we were so full from the first course that we didn’t have any room for the delicious-looking home-made cakes (I had my eye on the Victoria sponge!)

Definitely worth a revisit, and a great place to stop off on your way to/from Norfolk if travelling via Kings Lynn/the North.
